As you may know, motorized vehicles including electric bikes, scooter etc., are not allowed on walkways, sidewalks or pathways anywhere in Aviano common areas.
What you may not know is that operating electric scooters and electric bikes on sidewalks is also against City of Phoenix law. At the end of 2023, City of Phoenix also passed a law that requires riders of electric bikes and scooters to be 18 years or older to which violations are a minimum $100 fine. For more information, please see the City of Phoenix pamphlets below.
Arizona state law also sets the maximum speed of class 2 electronic bikes (motor only, no pedal-assist) and electronic scooters at 20 mph. Anything exceeding that maximum speed of 20 mph may require motorcycle licensing. For more information, please see the link to ARS 28-101.
Please help us keep everyone in Aviano safe and avoid fines by abiding by the rules, restrictions and laws.
